I have back pain AND spondylolisthesis?

The advice for someone with low back AND spondylolisthesis is almost exactly the same as someone with low back pain. Unless you have been specifically told by a medical specialist to rest, stay gently active.

If you haven’t already attended your general practitioner and/or physiotherapist, you should make an appointment to see them. You should expect that your GP or physio will rule out anything that requires special attention. Then you would expect that they provide you with advice about how to manage your pain (including the use of medication, hot packs, gentle exercise and hands on techniques) as well as prescribe you specific exercises for your specific presentation.

As a general rule, most low impact activities will be appropriate for someone with low back pain and spondylolisthesis, e.g. walking, cycling and aquatic exercise.
