Safe Moves Program
The AXIS Safe Moves Program provides practical and evidence-based guidance for managing the risks associated with hazardous manual tasks that may lead to musculoskeletal disorders.
Adopting a risk management approach, our Safe Moves Programs are designed according to the physical, functional and cognitive demands of your work place. The program encourages a thorough understanding of hazardous manual tasks and the best way to manage the associated risks.
The characteristics of a hazardous manual task and how they can directly stress the body and lead to musculoskeletal disorders are discussed through specific workplace examples. The effect of psychosocial stress on the individual as a risk for musculoskeletal disorders is also explored. Furthermore, the program discusses how a workers’ individual health and fitness can influence their risk for injury.
In understanding all possible hazards that may contribute to musculoskeletal disorders, discussion around appropriate control measures to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury is also explored.
The training is engaging and practical and encourages communication and problem solving around such topics as; is there only one safe way to lift? when and how is the best way to warm up? what to do if you cannot avoid working in awkward postures?
